What you'll do
- Job Purpose
- Responsible for carrying out chemical analysis, testing, inspection and maintaining quality standards of raw materials, process materials and finished products in accordance with company specifications and applicable standards.
- Key Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical analysis and testing of raw materials, process materials and finished products.
- Perform spectro / wet chemical analysis as applicable for steel and other materials.
- Test and monitor chemical composition of steel, including relevant elements as per specifications.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Maintain laboratory records, test reports, inspection reports and other quality documentation.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance and handling of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Monitor and maintain chemical solutions, reagents and laboratory consumables.
- Support the Quality team in incoming material, in-process and final product inspection.
- Ensure testing is carried out as per IS / ASTM / customer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Investigate abnormal test results and coordinate with Production and Quality teams for corrective action.
- Maintain proper housekeeping, safety practices and chemical handling procedures in the laboratory.
- Assist in quality audits, customer inspections and documentation related to laboratory activities.
- Prepare daily/periodic laboratory reports and share test results with relevant departments.
- Follow all EHS and laboratory safety procedures while handling chemicals and equipment.

- Candidates should have practical experience in chemical testing and laboratory operations.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to coordinate with Production and Quality departments.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing plant environment and in shifts, if required.
