About the role
We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager – Stores to manage and control the complete stores and inventory operations at our manufacturing plant in Chalisgaon. The candidate should have strong experience in material management, inventory control, warehouse operations, inward/outward processes and ERP-based stores management.
Candidates with experience in the Iron & Steel / Engineering / Heavy Manufacturing industry will have an added advantage.

- Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day stores and warehouse operations at the manufacturing plant.
- Handle material receipt, inspection coordination, storage, issue and dispatch of materials.
- Ensure proper GRN, material inward, material issue, transfer and stock documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure system stock matches physical stock.
- Monitor minimum/maximum stock levels, reorder levels and slow/non-moving inventory.
- Ensure proper material identification, binning, tagging and systematic storage.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and cycle counts and investigate stock variances.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Maintenance, Quality, Finance and other departments for material requirements.
- Manage inventory of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, packaging materials and other plant-related materials.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices, where applicable, and maintain material traceability.
- Monitor obsolete, excess and slow-moving materials and coordinate appropriate action.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, safety and 5S within the stores and warehouse area.
- Supervise and guide the stores team, supervisors and store operators/helpers.
- Prepare and monitor MIS reports related to inventory, stock movement, consumption and ageing.
- Ensure effective utilization of warehouse/store space and proper material stacking.
- Coordinate with auditors during stock audits and inventory verification.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, material availability and stores processes.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, internal controls and statutory/safety requirements related to stores operations.
What we're looking for
- 10–12 years of relevant experience in Stores / Warehouse / Inventory Management.
- Must have experience in a manufacturing industry.
- Experience in Iron & Steel, Engineering, Heavy Manufacturing or similar industrial manufacturing will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control and material management.
- Hands-on experience in ERP/SAP or other inventory management systems.
- Good understanding of GRN, material issue, stock transfer, physical verification and inventory reconciliation.
- Strong team-handling and coordination skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Candidate should be comfortable working in a plant/manufacturing environment.
