About the role
We are looking for an experienced Costing Manager to manage product costing, pricing analysis, cost control, and profitability analysis for the organization. The candidate will work closely with Purchase, Sales, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate costing and support management in pricing and commercial decisions.
What you'll do
- Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain detailed product-wise and SKU-wise costing.
- Calculate landed cost, including purchase cost, freight, customs duties, taxes, logistics, and other applicable expenses.
- Analyze direct and indirect costs and identify areas for cost reduction.
- Prepare costing and pricing sheets for new and existing products.
- Support the Sales and Business Development teams with pricing and quotation calculations.
- Monitor actual vs. standard cost and investigate significant variances.
- Conduct margin and profitability analysis product-wise, customer-wise, and order-wise.
- Coordinate with Purchase and SCM teams for accurate input costs and vendor pricing.
- Work with Finance/Accounts to ensure costing data is aligned with accounting records.
- Evaluate the impact of exchange-rate fluctuations, freight, duties, and other commercial factors on product cost.
- Maintain costing databases and ensure regular updates based on changes in purchase prices and operating costs.
- Prepare MIS and management reports related to cost, margins, profitability, and price movement.
- Assist management in cost optimization and pricing strategy.
- Review quotations and commercial proposals from a costing perspective.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of costing information.
What we're looking for
- Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Product Costing / Commercial Costing.
- Excellent understanding of Landed Cost Calculation.
- Knowledge of Import Costing, Customs Duty, Freight, Logistics and related charges.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good understanding of Gross Margin, Contribution Margin and Profitability Analysis.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and costing models.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
- Good coordination skills with Purchase, Sales, Finance and SCM teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify costing discrepancies.
